Career

Prior to her role on The Real Housewives, Carole Radziwill enjoyed a distinguished career. She began as an intern in postproduction for the news magazine “20/20.” Afterwards, she worked as a production secretary on “Close-Up” and eventually found employment with ABC News legend Peter Jennings. During her time with Jennings, Radziwill produced news segments on varied topics, including abortion, gun control, and international affairs in regions such as Cambodia, India, and Haiti. Following her departure from Jennings’ documentary team in 1991, Carole devoted six weeks reporting the Gulf War. More than a decade later, in 2003, she returned to international reporting, covering the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan while embedded with the 101st Airborne Division in Kandahar. Throughout her career in television news, Radziwill has received numerous accolades, including three Emmy awards, a Peabody award, and a GLAAD award.

In 1994, she entered into marriage with her colleague, Prince Anthony Radziwill, who unfortunately passed away from cancer in 1999. Following his death, Carole left ABC News to pen a memoir. Her memoir, “What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love,” achieved New York Times Best Seller status in 2005. Additionally, she began writing a monthly column for Glamour magazine titled “Lunch Date,” where she interviewed various celebrities, including Antonio Banderas, Alec Baldwin, and Rudy Giuliani.

In 2011, Radziwill became a cast member of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” featuring on the show for six seasons, from season 5 to season 10. In July 2018, she announced her decision to leave the show to return to journalism and production.

Her debut novel, “The Widow’s Guide to Sex & Dating,” was released in 2014, which she sold for a six-figure sum. The rights for a film adaptation have been secured, and it is being turned into a television series. Currently, she is also working on a political humor book and a scripted TV series inspired by her experiences in New York City.

Personal Life

On August 27, 1994, in East Hampton, New York, Carole Radziwill married Prince Anthony Radziwill. Being a member of the Polish Royal Family, Anthony’s lineage traces back to his father, Stanislaw Radziwell, the Royal Scion of Poland. His mother, Caroline Lee Bouvier Radziwill, was the youngest sister of Jackie Kennedy, the former First Lady, making Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg and John F. Kennedy Jr. his first cousins.

Sadly, after battling cancer, Anthony Radziwell passed away in 1999. He had been diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1989, and just before he tied the knot, new tumors emerged. Over the five years of their marriage, he fought against metastasizing cancer, with Carole serving as his primary caregiver during that ordeal. On August 10, 1999, he succumbed to the disease at the age of 40.

Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, who died just a month prior to Anthony Radziwell, was her closest friend.

Between 2014 and 2017, Radziwill had an on-and-off relationship with chef Adam Kenworthy, who is 21 years her junior.

After Ghislaine Maxwell’s arrest, images of Radziwill alongside her appeared. Carole’s phone number was found in Jeffrey Epstein’s contact book, a late convicted sex offender. At that time, Radziwill stated that she had been friendly with Maxwell during the early 2000s but hadn’t spoken to her in over a decade, adding that she never knew Epstein.

In August 2020, Radziwill expressed her thoughts on Twitter regarding Dorinda Medley’s departure from “The Real Housewives of New York City,” commenting, “Dorinda was only ‘real’ HW. So no more truth-telling too. Trust me that’s a main reason cast is let go. Telling the truth & exposing fake cast members & their story-lines & how it’s all manipulated by production.”

Real Estate

In New York City’s SoHo neighborhood, Carole Radziwill owns a two-bedroom townhouse that she has inhabited since 2002, having acquired it for $975,000.

Prior to that, she and her late spouse resided in an apartment on Park Avenue.
