What are Daniel Negreanu’s Career Winnings and Net Worth?
A Canadian professional poker player, Daniel Negreanu boasts a net worth of $60 million. Throughout his career, he has claimed two World Poker Tour championship titles and six World Series of Poker bracelets. Inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2014, he was also acknowledged as the best poker player of the decade by the Global Poker Index. At present, his career winnings total $41 million, with just under $7 million earned at the World Poker Tour and $18.7 million at the World Series of Poker.
Early Life
Born in Toronto, Ontario, on July 26th, 1974, Negreanu is the son of Romanian immigrants Constantin and Annie, who sought a better future for him and his elder brother, Mike. His father, an electrician, also sold sweets. Daniel attended Pineway Public School in North York, ON, where his principal frequently complained about his poor manners and disregard for school regulations.
As a teenager, Daniel discovered his passion for poker and gambling. He spent time in pool halls, hustling, playing cards, and betting on sports. A few credits short of graduating high school, he decided to drop out to pursue a full-time career in poker. He began playing against adults at charity casinos and various gambling venues. Daniel not only competed against individuals more than twice his age but also emerged victorious, amassing enough funds by age 21 to move to Las Vegas.
However, upon arriving in Las Vegas, Negreanu was unprepared for the stiff competition and lost all his funds, leading him back to Toronto. Unwilling to give up, he invested hundreds of hours into playing and studying poker, after which he made a successful return to Las Vegas.

The following year, he participated in his inaugural World Series of Poker event, where he won $169,460 in the $2,000 Limit Hold ’em event, making him the youngest WSOP bracelet holder at that time—a record he maintained for six years.
Continuing to compete in both online and World Poker tournaments, Daniel established a reputation as one of the finest players in the field. In 2004, he secured another World Series of Poker bracelet worth $169,100. That same year, he clinched two World Poker Tour titles, winning $1,009,100 at the $10,000 Borgata Poker Open and $1,795,218 at the $15,000 Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Subsequently, Daniel earned the title of World Series of Poker Player of the Year.
In 2006, at the Card Player Magazine’s Awards Gala, Negreanu was recognized as Favorite Poker Player. He made history in 2013 by garnering another WSOP Player of the Year award, making him the only player to achieve this feat twice. Daniel was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in Las Vegas in 2014. After 12 successful years with Team PokerStars, where he amassed millions, Negreanu announced his departure from the online poker platform in 2019.
