Dixie D’Amelio was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, in 2001 to Heidi, a photographer and former model, and Marc, a one-time Republican candidate for the Connecticut State Senate. In 2019, at the age of 18, she initiated her career after her sister Charli gained fame on TikTok. Subsequently, Dixie began sharing her own videos and eventually signed with United Talent Agency along with Charli. They became collaborators in The Hype House, a collective of young TikTok creators based in Los Angeles. Later, the D’Amelio sisters entered into a podcast agreement with Ramble Podcast Network. By August 2020, Dixie had risen to become the third highest-earning user on TikTok, right after her sister.
