Dorit Kemsley: What Is Her Net Worth?

With a net worth of $50 million, Dorit Kemsley, a reality television star and fashion designer, shares this wealth with her husband, Paul Kemsley. She is perhaps best recognized as a cast member of Bravo’s popular reality show “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

Early Life

Born Dorit Lemel on July 14, 1976, in Woodbridge, Connecticut, she is the offspring of Shalom and Rachel Lemel. After completing her degree in design, marketing, and communication from Quinnipiac University, Dorit ventured through Europe, eventually settling in Italy where she spent a decade working in the swimwear industry.

Career

Dorit entered the realm of reality television through her connection with Real Housewife Lisa Vanderpump, for whom she serves as a personal designer. She joined the cast of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” at the beginning of its 7th season, premiering on December 6, 2016, and has been a mainstay for six seasons. In addition to her television role, Dorit launched the swimwear line Beverly Beach and the bridal line Nektaria. She also runs a fashion/swimwear company named Dorit, creating Italian-inspired clothing and resort wear. Beyond her design work, Dorit actively supports various children’s charities and made a guest appearance on “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” in 2019 with her husband, Paul.

Personal Life

Dorit is married to Paul Kemsley, a prominent real estate developer and celebrity manager. They exchanged vows in 2015 at the Rainbow Room in New York and are parents to two children, Jagger and Phoenix. Currently, Paul manages soccer icon Pele and singer Boy George via his management firm, Nixxi Entertainment. Boy George also acts as the godfather to Paul and Dorit’s son and occasionally stays with the Kemsleys. Their lavish Beverly Hills residence was previously listed for $12 million.

In October 2021, Kemsley and her children faced a harrowing incident, being robbed at gunpoint by three male intruders in their home. During the ordeal, she pleaded with the thieves, saying, “Don’t hurt my babies. Don’t kill me. I’m a mother.” One of the robbers coldly replied, “Kill her. Just kill her already.” The burglars wreaked havoc, stealing belongings valued at around $1 million while Paul was in London. The aftermath of this frightening event was depicted on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” capturing her co-stars rushing to her side.

Controversy

Revealed in August 2018, Dorit’s husband, Paul, accumulated a gambling debt of $3.6 million at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Court filings indicated that Paul made five payments to the Bellagio amounting to $850,000 between 2010 and 2011. The couple filed for bankruptcy in 2012, aiming to have their debts in Vegas resolved. Meanwhile, Dorit faced a lawsuit from a former partner in her bathing suit business, who alleged he provided the couple with over $200,000 to help launch the venture. The Kemsleys dispute this allegation.

In November 2021, Paul faced arrest for DUI after police stopped him near Laurel Canyon off the 101 in Los Angeles. During the breathalyzer test, his blood alcohol content registered at .081, slightly above California’s legal limit of .080.

Dorit and Paul Kemsley Real Estate

In August 2019, Paul and Dorit purchased a home in Encino, Los Angeles, for $6.5 million. They listed the property for $9.5 million in September 2020. The listing was managed by Mauricio Umansky, husband of Kyle Richards, a castmate of Dorit on “Real Housewives.” On the show, they are depicted residing in a spacious mansion in Beverly Hills, co-owned with a business partner. This mansion was initially listed for $12.85 million before being reduced to $7.5 million.
