Introducing a new extension that facilitates various actions such as browsing, searching, previewing, purchasing, and downloading music content from the Amazon MP3 store, accessible in countries including the United States, United Kingdom, and others.
Purchased music from the Amazon MP3 store will automatically initiate downloading and integration into the Banshee music library.

- Adjust the wrapping of long strings in the Now Playing view to improve visual appeal and readability.
- Introduce visual separators in the source view to clearly distinguish between different categories of sources for enhanced organization.
- Implement cultural formatting for the status bar item count, such as displaying “1,000” in en_US format rather than the previous “1000” style.
- Enhance the grid view album artwork hover effect by refining its interactive elements and responsiveness.
- Optimize the user experience for new users by automatically hiding default smart playlists when they are empty.
- Initiate the ability to edit the names of newly added playlists for more personalized organization.
- Introduce the “Amazon MP3s” Music smart playlist to provide a curated music listening experience.
- Enhance device support by addressing compatibility issues with devices like Droid X, Galaxy Portal, Xperia X10, and DEXT/CLIQ, as well as fine-tuning Maemo device support and MTP device detection.
- Developers: Enhance the DBus API with additions for displaying various dialogs to enrich the developer experience.
- Developers: Introduce the new Hyena.Downloader API to facilitate downloads and simplify HTTP operations with features like HttpFileDownloader and HttpStringDownloader.
- Developers: Implement the Banshee.WebBrowser API for creating embedded WebKit web browsers and sources, enhancing the functionality of features like the Amazon MP3 store, Miro Guide, and the Wikipedia context pane.
- Distributors: Replace the webkit-sharp dependency with a direct dependency on libwebkit 1.2.2+ for the new Banshee.WebBrowser API, streamlining the distribution process.
To utilize the default feature stack, the following requirements must be met:
- At least version 0.2.0 of libmtp
- Version 0.8.0 or higher of mono-zeroconf
- boo version 0.8.1 or newer
- webkit-1.0 with a minimum of version 1.2.2
- gdata-sharp with a version of 1.4 or above
- A combination of glib with version 2.22, gio-sharp with a version equal to or greater than 2.22.2, gtk-sharp-beans with a version of at least 2.14.1, and the duo of gudev-sharp and gkeyfile-sharp
- libgpod-sharp with a minimum version of 0.7.95
- For the run-time requirements of the default feature stack to be satisfied, the system needs:
- GIO/udev framework
- Brasero version 0.8.1 or newer
- Presence of Avahi
- gst-plugins-bad to provide the bpmdetect GStreamer plugin
