What is Enrique Iglesias’ Net Worth?

Enrique Iglesias, the King of Latin Pop and a Spanish-Filipino singer-songwriter, actor, and record producer, has an impressive net worth estimated at $100 million. This immensely popular artist has made waves in both Latin and English-language music, achieving record sales exceeding 130 million globally. He is the son of the renowned Spanish vocalist Julio Iglesias and has been married to former professional tennis player Anna Kournikova since 2001.

Early Life

Born on May 8, 1975, in Madrid, Spain, Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler is the son of Julio Iglesias and Isabel Preysler, a Filipina journalist and socialist. He has two elder siblings, Chábeli and Julio Jr. Until December 1981, Enrique and his siblings resided with their mother. Following the kidnapping of Enrique’s grandfather, for safety reasons, he and his brother moved to Miami to live with their father, primarily raised by their nanny, to whom Enrique dedicated his debut album. He attended Gulliver Preparatory School and later enrolled at the University of Miami, majoring in business before ultimately dropping out to focus on his music career.

To finance his demo tape, Enrique sought a loan from his nanny, as he wished to keep his aspiration of becoming a musician from his famous father. Under the pseudonym Enrique Martinez, he posed as a singer from Guatemala while recording his first album in Toronto.

Career

On July 12, 1995, Iglesias unveiled his debut album, Enrique Iglesias, featuring a range of soft rock ballads and released through the Mexican record label Fonovisa, which also distributed his next two albums. Impressively, the album sold half a million copies in its first week, reaching Gold status in Portugal shortly after its release, and exceeded a million copies sold in the following three months—a remarkable feat for an album in a language other than English. Five singles, including “Por Amarte,” “No Llores Por Mí,” and “Trapecista,” soared to the top of Billboard’s Latin charts, earning Iglesias the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Performance.

The momentum of Iglesias’ career continued in 1997 with the launch of his second album, Vivir (To Live), which garnered him a nomination for an American Music Award in the inaugural Favorite Latin Artist category, although he lost to his father. The next year, 1998, he released his third album, Cosa del Amor (Things of Love), further solidifying his position in the Latin music industry.

In 1999, Iglesias embarked on a new venture by recording and releasing his first complete CD in English, appropriately titled Enrique. This pop album showcased Latin influences and featured a duet with Whitney Houston, “Could I Have This Kiss Forever.”

In the year 2000, the Super Bowl XXXIV halftime show featured Iglesias performing alongside Christina Aguilera and Phil Collins. Subsequently, in 2001, he released Escape, his second English-language album, which turned out to be his biggest commercial achievement to date.

In 2002, the decision was made by Iglesias to launch a fourth Spanish-language album called Quizás (Perhaps), which made its debut at number twelve on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The following year, Iglesias put out his seventh album, aptly named 7. After taking a hiatus of two years, he returned with Insomniac, his new album released in June 2007. March 2008 saw the release of 95/08 Éxitos, a Spanish greatest hits album that featured his seventeen chart-topping songs on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, in addition to two new tracks. Later that year, in November, he also issued an English compilation of his greatest hits. The albums Euphoria and Sex and Love followed in 2010 and 2014, respectively.

Additionally, Iglesias has made guest appearances on several television shows, including Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother.

Personal Life

Later in life, Iglesias discovered that he was born with a rare congenital condition called situs inversus, which causes some major organs, like the heart, to be positioned on the opposite side of where they normally would be located.

His relationship with Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova began in late 2001. Although they reportedly separated in October 2013, they have since reconciled. Together, they have a set of fraternal twins born on December 16, 2017. They welcomed their third child, a daughter, on January 30, 2020.

When Kournikova was expecting twins in 2017, Iglesias adopted a protective father approach, spending $600,000 to build a 16-foot wall in front of their home and to baby-proof their swimming pool.

For his proposal, he presented Kournikova with an 11-carat pear-cut pink diamond engagement ring worth $2.5 million, flanked by two smaller, yet sizable, diamonds.

Iglesias owns a Gulfstream IV jet valued at $3.6 million, which he utilizes for convenient, private, and comfortable travel to concert venues worldwide.

A passionate car collector, Iglesias has owned luxury vehicles including a Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, and more. In 2016, he shared on Twitter that he would be auctioning some of his cars for a charitable cause. He posted a photo of his collection, captioning it: “This is my collection of cars, today will be auctioned and the proceeds will go to UNICEF all, for children in Africa.”

In 2003, Iglesias underwent surgery to remove a circular mole from the right side of his face due to concerns regarding its potential to become cancerous over time.

He contributed $200,000 to Save the Children to support a literacy program for elementary schoolchildren in Peru, Guatemala, and El Salvador, with his funds used to purchase educational software for these schools.

In 2018, Cristiano Ronaldo praised Iglesias on Twitter for his generous donation, stating: “Very pleased to announce the gesture of my friend @enriqueiglesias donating…7% of the concert revenues in Lisbon will be donated to the IPO,” which stands for the Portuguese Institute of Oncology of Lisbon. Iglesias expressed his support on Twitter, stating: “Honored to support such an incredible cause with @cristiano!! Gracias campeón!!”

Iglesias appears in Anuel’s track titled “Futbol y Rumba,” as well as its music video. This collaborative effort between the two Latin artists includes a quarantine-style video featuring cameos from various celebrities and athletes, such as Shaquille O’Neal, Jamie Foxx, Marshmello, and soccer stars Leo Messi, Sergio Ramos, and Luis Suarez, among others.

Real Estate

Iglesias and Kournikova, along with their children, reside in a 20,000-square-foot house located in the Bay Point community in Miami.

A six-bedroom residence was constructed by Iglesias for Ms. Kournikova’s grandparents on 6,800 square feet of land, but upon completion, the couple felt it was larger than needed and placed it on the market for $4.85 million.
