What is Gisele Bündchen’s net worth?
With a net worth of $400 million, Gisele Bündchen stands as a prominent Brazilian supermodel. Her wealth exists distinctly apart from that of her ex-husband Tom Brady, who has a fortune of $250 million. Together, during their marriage, the Bundchen-Brady duo boasted a combined net worth of $650 million. What accounts for Gisele’s significantly greater riches compared to Tom? It’s worthy to note that in the first two decades of his NFL career, from 2000 to 2020, Tom Brady accrued $330 million in earnings through salary and endorsements. In contrast, Gisele’s earnings during this timeframe exceeded $500 million.
Emerging as one of the trailblazers in the realm of popular, savvy Brazilian models, Gisele set a benchmark for the models that followed her. Much of the stellar reputation that Brazilian models hold today can be attributed to her influence. They are characterized by their professionalism, intelligence, patience, and adept business skills. Gisele’s pioneering spirit paved the way for these future talents. Throughout the years, she has cultivated an impressive empire, earning the title of the last great “supermodel” according to many.
Throughout her career, Gisele has collaborated with numerous renowned designers, introduced a innovative runway walk style, revived the concept of the “curvy” model during an era dominated by the ultra-thin appearance, became a prominent face of Victoria’s Secret, and launched her own line of flip flops. In addition, she has made appearances in film and video projects and produced her own show. A dedicated Goodwill Ambassador, she also possesses real estate across several countries.
Early Life
Born on July 20, 1980, in Horizontina, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Gisele Bündchen is of German heritage. Growing up in Southern Brazil alongside her twin sister Patricia and four other siblings—Raquel, Graziela, Gabriela, and Rafaela—she was raised in Rio Grande do Sul. Gisele can speak multiple languages, including Portuguese, English, Italian, Spanish, and French. During her childhood, she was passionate about volleyball and aspired to pursue it as a career. In 1993, Gisele, along with Patricia and Gabriela, participated in a modeling course aimed at improving their posture. The following year, Elite Model Management discovered Gisele in a mall in São Paulo. She secured second place in the Elite Model Look contest. At the young age of 14, she began her modeling career.
To kickstart her modeling career, she relocated to Sao Paulo.
Career
Bundchen’s significant breakthrough occurred during New York Fashion Week in 1996. In 1997, after auditioning for 43 shows, she managed to secure roles in just two international presentations. Her notable moment came when she was selected to walk the runway in “Rain,” Alexander McQueen’s Spring 1998 ready-to-wear show, primarily because of her ability to navigate the slippery runway in extremely high heels. That same year, she participated in advertising campaigns for Missoni, Chloe, Dolce and Gabbana, Valentino, Gianfranco Ferre, Ralph Lauren, and Versace, also landing covers for Vogue Paris, British Vogue, and i-D. In July 1999, she featured on her first American Vogue cover, followed by another appearance in December of the same year. Rolling Stone crowned the then-20-year-old Gisele as “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” in 2000, featuring her on its cover. She is often credited with pioneering the new model archetype known as the Brazilian bombshell.
Throughout her career, Bundchen has graced the cover of 37 international Vogue editions, including three American editions in 2000. January 2000 saw her on the covers of both U.S. and British Vogue. During the Spring Fashion Week of 2000, Gisele was exceptionally busy, opening shows for renowned designers such as Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Valentino, Dolce and Gabbana, and Christian Dior across New York, Paris, and Milan. She was consistently featured in Dolce and Gabbana’s ad campaigns from 1993 to 2003.

In 2000, Bündchen secured a $25 million contract with Victoria’s Secret and formally stepped away from runway shows at Fashion Week. That same year, she donned the $15 million Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra—dubbed the Red Hot Fantasy Bra—which is recognized by Guinness World Records as the most expensive lingerie ever made. In 2005, she modeled the $12.5 million Sexy Splendor Fantasy Bra, the second-costliest bra ever produced. Her association with Victoria’s Secret came to an end in May 2007.
April 2010 marked Bündchen’s 11th cover appearance on American Vogue. In 2011, she appeared on eight different Vogue covers. Her July 2011 issue of Vogue Brasil became the magazine’s highest-selling edition, with 70,743 copies sold.
In May 2014, Gisele became the face of Chanel No. 5. During 2014 and 2015, she featured in more television commercials in Brazil than any other celebrity from the country. By 2015, Bündchen boasted an extensive portfolio including over 500 ad campaigns, 800 fashion shows, 2,000 magazine covers, and 3,500 magazine editorials.
She introduced a line of designer sandals, Impanema, in collaboration with the Brazilian footwear company Grendene, and also owns a Brazilian hotel known as Palladium Executive.
Her book, titled Lessons: “My Path to a Meaningful Life,” was published in 2018 and became a New York Times bestseller in the U.S., as well as a leading bestseller in Brazil for over six months. The proceeds from her book supported various social and environmental initiatives.
FTX Collapse
In June 2021, Gisele and Tom shared that they had entered into an endorsement deal to act as “Brand Ambassadors” for the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, appearing in several commercials for the platform.
As you may already be aware, FTX faced bankruptcy in November 2022. Following this event, CEO and co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried was arrested and extradited from the Bahamas to the United States to confront allegations of money laundering and wire fraud.
A bankruptcy court filing on January 10, 2023, disclosed the complete list of FTX’s internal equity holders, which included Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady. The filing indicated that Gisele had received 686,761 common shares of FTX, while Tom obtained 1,144,861 common shares.
Kevin O’Leary, a television personality, was reported to have received 32,000 shares. In a CNBC interview and during Senate testimony, Kevin stated that his stake in FTX was valued at $1 million at its highest point. Calculating from these figures allows us to infer that at one time, the private market price for an individual share of FTX stood at $31.25. Thus, collectively, the nearly 1.8 million shares held by Tom and Gisele were at one point valued around $57 million. Additionally, they probably received tens of millions in other forms of compensation, with Kevin O’Leary’s additional compensation estimated at around $14 million.
It is highly likely that Tom and Gisele, along with other celebrity endorsers, will end up receiving nothing in return for their equity stakes.

The relationship between Bündchen and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady began in late 2006 after they were introduced by a mutual friend on a blind date. They exchanged vows on February 26, 2009, in a private ceremony held at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Santa Monica, California. A second ceremony took place in Costa Rica in April 2009. Their son was born in 2009, and their daughter arrived in 2012. Additionally, Bündchen is a stepmother to Brady’s son from his previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan.
After months of speculation, Tom and Gisele officially finalized their divorce in October 2022.
In addition to her modeling career, Bündchen has taken part in numerous humanitarian efforts, including the I am African campaign, (Product) Red, and Zero Hunger, as well as fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Hospital Research and supporting Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. Due to her advocacy for rainforest conservation and reforestation, Bündchen has been recognized as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme.

Brentwood:
The year was 2009 when Tom and Gisele acquired a vacant plot in LA’s Brentwood neighborhood for $9 million. An additional $20 million was spent on the construction of a 14,000-square-foot home over the next three years, which they only lived in for less than a year. Built from scratch with acid-washed limestone, the mansion overlooks the Pacific Ocean and incorporates hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, open-beamed ceilings, multiple fireplaces, a high-end kitchen, a spacious gym, airy marble-tiled bathrooms, and several large closets. On the property, one can find a koi-filled moat, a large pool, a motor court made of reclaimed stones accessible only via a small bridge, and beautifully landscaped surroundings. The entire mansion is eco-friendly, utilizing solar power and grey-water technology, and is constructed from eco-friendly reclaimed materials.
In May 2014, the property was sold to Dr. Dre for $50 million. Not an insignificant profit of $21 million. A drone video tour of their former Brentwood mansion can be found here:
New York City:
A 12th-floor unit in a New York City building was bought by Tom and Gisele in 2018 for $25.5 million. In December 2020, this unit was sold for $40 million. They still retain ownership of a smaller unit in the same building, featuring 4,300 square feet of living space with views of the Hudson River.

In late 2020, Tom and Gisele invested $17 million in a two-acre estate located on Miami’s exclusive Indian Creek island, commonly referred to as Billionaire Bunker. Hosting only 34 lots over 300 acres, the island can be accessed via a single guarded bridge, and is monitored by a private police force 24/7. The couple demolished an existing 5,700-square-foot mansion to make way for a new, larger one. Close by are neighbors such as Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and billionaire investor Carl Icahn.
Prior to acquiring their Indian Creek property, Tom and Gisele temporarily resided in Derek Jeter’s Tampa mansion, reportedly renting it for $75,000 per month.
Montana:
In Big Sky, Montana, at the Yellowstone Club, Tom and Gisele possess a property. Specifics regarding their property type remain uncertain; condos in the area are valued at $6 million, with homes exceeding $30 million.
