Between 2019 and 2020, Jordan faced several health challenges following severe benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome. He reported that he had to seek emergency detox after the prescribed clonazepam dosage was increased due to his wife’s kidney cancer diagnosis. Unable to find accommodating doctors in North America, Peterson traveled to Russia for treatment, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs and required to be placed in a medically induced coma for eight days.
