Following their separation, her mother gained full custody, and Robert essentially vanished from their lives, resulting in Mary Jo raising Kris and her younger sister Karen in Clairemont, California. A few years later, her mother married Harry Shannon. Kris graduated from Clairemont High School in 1973 and subsequently took a job at a donut shop, along with a brief period as a flight attendant for American Airlines.
Family
On July 8, 1978, Kris wed Robert Kardashian, whom she met at the age of 17. Together, they welcomed three daughters—Kourtney, Kim, Khloe—and a son named Rob. Robert Kardashian gained notoriety for his role as a high-profile defense attorney during O.J. Simpson’s murder trial in the 1990s. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1991, and Robert passed away from esophageal cancer in 2003.
