Early Life

Nikki Bella, whose real name is Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace, was born on November 21st, 1983, in San Diego, California. Being older than her twin sister by 16 minutes, she grew up on a farm in a suburb just outside Scottsdale, Arizona. From a young age, both she and her twin sister were passionate soccer players, with Nikki initially aiming for a professional soccer career until a leg injury cut that dream short.

After completing high school, Stephanie returned to San Diego to enroll at Grossmont College. However, she transferred to Los Angeles about a year later, aspiring to break into the entertainment industry. In the initial phase, she worked as a waitress while seeking an agent, and after securing representation, Bella was able to easily land modeling, acting, and promotional roles. Among her early significant TV appearances was the reality show “Meet My Folks.” She also featured in a Budweiser commercial during the World Cup, proudly holding the iconic soccer trophy alongside her sister.

In 2006, both she and her twin sister participated in the 2006 “International Body Doubles” twins search, as well as the WWE Diva Search. Unfortunately, both attempts did not yield the success they were hoping for.

Career

The twins’ wait came to a close with their signing by the WWE in 2007. As “The Bella Twins,” Nikki and Brie debuted in Florida Championship Wrestling. During this time, Nikki also took part in bikini contests. Brie made her debut on “Smackdown” in 2008 before Nikki was introduced officially. At this juncture, the twins had garnered fame for their participation in tag team matches.

Nikki captured the Divas Championship for the first time from 2011 to 2012, marking the beginning of a lengthy reign for her. Although the duo took a brief hiatus from WWE, they returned in 2013. Having become the longest-reigning Divas Champion, Nikki announced her retirement in 2019, and in 2020, both twins were honored with induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Film and Television

The twins, apart from wrestling, have made appearances in several films and TV shows. They guest-starred in MTV’s “Ridiculousness” in 2012. Noteworthy shows they have been a part of include “Psych” and the reality series “Total Divas.” In the film industry, they featured in “Confessions of a Womanizer” in 2014 and lent their voices to characters in the animated film “The Flintstones & WWE: Stone Age SmackDown.” Moreover, they were seen at the Miss USA 2013 pageant, as well as the MTV Europe Music Awards and the Teen Choice Awards.

In 2016, the two launched a YouTube channel together. The following year, Nikki participated in “Dancing with the Stars.” Additionally, they began their podcast in 2019 and have featured in various WWE video games.

Business Ventures

Over the years, the twins have initiated several business ventures, such as a wine label called Belle Radici, a clothing line named Birdiebee, and a beauty and body line referred to as Nicole + Brizee.

Relationships

Nikki first married her high school sweetheart at the age of 20; however, the marriage lasted only three years before it was annulled. In 2012, she began a relationship with professional wrestler John Cena. Five years later, they got engaged, with Cena proposing during WrestleMania 33 after a tag-team match. Unfortunately, Bella and Cena called off their engagement and canceled the wedding in 2018.

After her stint on “Dancing with the Stars,” Bella began dating her dance partner, Artem Chigvintsev. Their relationship started in 2019, and in 2020, they announced their engagement. Later that year, Nikki revealed she was expecting her first child, and she and Artem welcomed their baby in the summer of 2020.

Real Estate

In addition to being a WWE icon and entertainment figure, Nikki is also a fully licensed real estate agent. Reports in August 2020 indicated that she was selling her Arizona home for nearly $2 million, having bought it just three months earlier. This led observers to speculate that the home was never meant to be a permanent residence for Nikki and her then-fiancee, Artem Chigvintsev. She listed the 10,000-square-foot estate at $1.995 million, which includes five bedrooms and three fireplaces.

In October 2020, news emerged that Nikki and her twin sister were relocating to Napa Valley. They explained that they had “always been in California” and conducted a significant amount of business in the state before deciding to move. During an interview, the sisters expressed a desire to downsize and relocate to their “favorite state.” Nikki also mentioned that this was the reason behind the sale of her Arizona home. They further announced plans to expand their wine-making ventures in Napa Valley.
