What is The Undertaker’s net worth?

With a net worth of $17 million, The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler. Since 1984, he has been a wrestler and became part of WWE in 1990. His character in the ring features two distinct personas: the “Deadman” and the “American Bad Ass.”

Early Life

Mark William Calaway was born on March 24, 1965, in Houston, Texas, where he was the youngest of five sons. He played both football and basketball while attending Waltrip High School. He received a basketball scholarship in 1983 to Angelina College, located about 115 miles northeast of Houston. In 1985, Calaway transferred to Texas Wesleyan University to focus on basketball and sports management. However, he dropped out in 1986, briefly considering a career in professional basketball in Europe before ultimately choosing to pursue wrestling.

Career

Calaway’s journey in professional wrestling began with his debut in World Class Championship Wrestling on June 26, 1987, where he performed as Texas Red. In 1988, he joined the Continental Wrestling Association and competed under various personas such as The Master of Pain and The Punisher. After signing with World Championship Wrestling in 1989 as “Mean Mark Callous,” he transformed into “The Undertaker” upon joining WWE in 1990. He soon emerged as one of the most beloved figures in wrestling. The Undertaker is especially recognized for “The Streak,” which consists of 21 consecutive victories at WWE’s “WrestleMania,” and an overall record of 25-2 in the event.

Calaway has achieved a total of 17 championships. Within WWF/E, he has secured the title of WWF/E Champion four times, World Heavyweight Champion three times, WWF World Tag Team Champion six times, WWF Hardcore Champion once, and WCW Tag Team Champion once during the Invasion storyline. Additionally, he has held the titles of USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion and WCWA Texas Heavyweight Champion outside WWE. The Undertaker has been the headline attraction for numerous pay-per-view events for WWE, including WrestleMania, which he headlined five times. He uniquely holds the record for headlining WrestleMania across four separate decades: the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. Furthermore, he is tied as the most prolific pay-per-view competitor in WWE history, having participated in 174 matches, sharing this record with his storyline brother, Kane.

Calaway’s first film appearance was as Hutch in the 1991 film “Suburban Commando.” He has made guest appearances on “Poltergeist: The Legacy” and “Celebrity Deathmatch.” Moreover, in 2002, Calaway made a non-character appearance on the Canadian sports show “Off the Record with Michael Landsberg.”

The Undertaker has been a feature in many WWE video games, starting from WWF Super WrestleMania (1992) until his latest appearance in WWE 2K20 (2019). In 2013, a special Undertaker-themed edition of WWE 2K14 was also released.

In the summer of 2020, at the age of 55, The Undertaker was confronted by AJ Styles at SummerSlam, who issued a challenge for a “Loser Leaves WWE” match. Styles, currently the Intercontinental Champion, recently faced defeat against Calaway and is seeking a rematch in August. He stated: “I’m the IC champ. Undertaker’s never been…the IC champ. I’ll challenge you, and if you manage to beat me, I’ll walk away from WWE for good. However, if I come out on top, you will have to leave. That’s the backstory behind it.” Technically, The Undertaker is said to be retired, yet he had some words with Styles.

Personal Life

Between 1989 and 1999, Calaway was married to his first wife, with whom he shares a son, born in 1993. In 2000, he tied the knot with his second wife, Sara. In 2001, she made appearances on WWE television during a feud involving Calaway and Diamond Dallas Page, where she was recognized as Calaway’s spouse. The two welcomed two daughters before their divorce in 2007. In 2010, he wed former wrestler Michelle McCool, and their first child arrived in 2012.

Calaway has a passion for boxing and mixed martial arts. He holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

He participates actively in the charity he established with his ex-wife Sara, known as “The Zeus Compton Calaway Save the Animals Fund,” which provides funding for lifesaving treatments for large-breed dogs.
