What Is Travis Pastrana’s Net Worth and Salary?

A professional motorsports racer and stunt driver, Travis Pastrana boasts a net worth of $25 million. Renowned for his remarkable versatility, he has participated in supercross, motocross, freestyle motocross, and rally racing events. Pastrana is also a competitor in the Monster Jam circuit and NASCAR. He displays strong loyalty to the Suzuki brand, exclusively using Suzuki motorbikes.

Beyond his racing endeavors, Pastrana excels as a stunt driver. Notably, he has replicated various legendary jumps performed by Evel Knievel and once jumped from an airplane without a parachute. In the entertainment industry, Travis is well recognized for hosting “Nitro Circus,” a series aired on MTV. Subsequently, he initiated the Nitro World Games, an extreme sports competition.

Early Life

Born on October 8, 1983, in Annapolis, Maryland, Travis Alan Pastrana was raised in a sports-oriented family; his uncle was a successful quarterback for the University of Maryland. As a teen, Travis gained fame by competing in various motocross championships. After completing high school, he enrolled at the University of Maryland but faced a serious setback in 2003 when he crashed his Corvette into a tree at 19, resulting in severe injuries.

Career

At just 13, Pastrana started performing stunts during motocross races. By 17, he was competing at a national level and clinched the 2000 AMA 125cc National Championship. The following year, at 18, he secured both the 125cc East Coast Supercross Championship and the 125cc Rose Creek Invitational. By 2002, Travis was ready to compete in the 250cc class. He quickly became a fan favorite for his stunt performances and impressive speed through challenging terrains.

From an early age, he represented Puerto Rico in competitions, thanks to his father’s Puerto Rican roots. His debut with Team Puerto Rico occurred in 2008, and in 2018, he participated in the Motocross of Nations event, where he collaborated with teammates to raise funds for Hurricane Maria relief.

Travis gained significant recognition for his outstanding performances at the X Games. He won the inaugural MotoX Freestyle event at a young age, achieving a score of 99.0 points. In 2000, he earned a gold medal at the same event, adding a third gold medal in 2001. After missing 2002 due to an injury, he made a triumphant return in 2003, securing his fourth gold medal with a spectacular 360 maneuver.

In 2004, despite suffering a concussion from a crash at the X Games, Travis competed the following day and secured a silver medal. He returned to dominance in 2005 with another gold medal and achieved three golds in 2006 at the X Games, winning titles in MotoX Best Trick, MotoX Freestyle, and Rally Car Racing.

In 2006, the first-ever double backflip in competition was successfully landed by Pastrana.

Travis earned a bronze medal in the Rally category in 2007. The following year, in 2008, he achieved gold in the same event. His attempted rodeo 720 at X Games 15 in 2009 resulted in a crash, leading him to withdraw from the competition due to blurred vision. However, in 2010, Travis reclaimed the title in MotoX Freestyle. The year 2011 turned out to be disappointing for him as he suffered a broken ankle and foot during another Rodeo 720 attempt.

In 2012, Pastrana issued a challenge to the famed rally driver Sebastien Loeb to compete at the X Games. Loeb took up the challenge, but an accident forced Pastrana to retire, preventing him from competing against Loeb, who won comfortably. By 2015, Travis participated in the Stadium Super Trucks competition, finishing last in his heat race.

Outside of the X Games, Pastrana actively engaged in the rallying realm, starting in 2003 when he joined the Subaru-based Sportscar Rally team. His triumph came in 2006 when he won the Rally America National Series. That year, Travis declared his intention to enter the World Rally Championship, taking part in select events over the following years. Driving a Subaru Impreza WRX STI during this time, he faced challenges in his debut season.

By 2008, after another lackluster season, he decided to quit his plans for the WRC. The following year, Pastrana celebrated victory at the Ojibwe Forests Rally. In 2011, he entered the Global RallyCross Championship.

Additionally, Pastrana consistently participated in NASCAR events starting in 2011, beginning with a sixth-place finish at the Toyota All-Star Showdown. He later formed a racing team, Pastrana-Waltrip Racing, with Michael Waltrip, competing in the K&N Pro Series East and consistently posting impressive results until his departure from NASCAR in 2013. However, he made a comeback in 2015 in the Truck Series and returned again in 2017 and 2020.

Stunts

Over the years, Travis Pastrana has executed numerous remarkable stunts. In 2007, he leaped from an airplane over Puerto Rico without a parachute. Mid-air, he rendezvoused with another skydiver and secured himself to them via a harness. Together, they deployed a parachute for a safe landing. It’s reported that Pastrana faced legal repercussions for this stunt, as attempting such a feat is illegal.

Relationships

In 2011, Travis proposed to Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, a professional skateboarder, and they wed later that same year. Their family grew in 2013 with the birth of their first child, followed by another child in 2015.
