What is Tyler The Creator’s net worth?
With a net worth estimated at $30 million, Tyler The Creator stands out as an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, music video director, fashion designer, graphic designer, and actor. As of now, he has achieved two #1 albums on Billboard: “IGOR” in 2020 and “Call Me If You Get Lost” in 2022—both of which earned Grammys for Best Rap Album. Additionally, he is one of the founding members of the rap collective Odd Future.
Early Life
Born Tyler Gregory Okonma in Ladera Heights, California, on March 6, 1991, his mother is of mixed African-American and European-Canadian heritage, while his father, whom he has never encountered, hails from Nigeria. He spent most of his formative years in the Los Angeles areas, particularly Ladera Heights and Hawthorne. In his younger days, he enjoyed removing covers from albums to create his personal tracklists and artwork. At the age of 14, he began teaching himself piano. Over the course of 12 years, he attended 12 different schools in both Los Angeles and Sacramento. While in high school, Tyler worked at Starbucks and FedEx for roughly two years, adopting the nickname Tyler the Creator from his MySpace account.
Career
In 2007, Tyler co-founded the hip-hop collective Odd Future along with Hodgy Beats, Left Brain, and Casey Veggies. Their first mixtape, “The Odd Future Tape,” was self-released in late 2008. Tyler debuted his solo mixtape, “Bastard,” on December 25, 2009, which garnered a spot at number 32 on Pitchfork Media’s Top Albums of 2010 list. February 2011 marked the release of the music video for “Yonkers,” which quickly gained traction, attracting attention from various media outlets and leading to an extended version. “Yonkers” eventually earned him the 2011 MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. This surge in popularity captured the interest of numerous music industry figures, including Jimmy Iovine, Rick Ross, Steve Rifkind, and Jay-Z, culminating in Tyler and Odd Future signing a deal with Sony in Spring 2011, followed by the release of his debut album, “Goblin,” in May.
Tyler made his television debut performing “Sandwitches” on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” in February 2011. In March 2012, the premiere of “Loiter Squad,” a television show featuring him and Odd Future, aired on Adult Swim. Produced by the same company behind “Jackass,” the show was a 15-minute live-action program that included pranks, man-on-the-street segments, sketches, and music, running for three seasons.
On Valentine’s Day 2013, Tyler released the first single, “Domo23,” from his second album “Wolf,” where he also made another appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to perform two songs. His tour through Europe and North America occurred in March and April 2013, leading to the release of “Wolf” in early April.
In April 2013, Tyler debuted the video for “Fucking Young” on Odd Future’s YouTube channel, a track from his 2015 album “Cherry Bomb.” He later appeared at the 2015 Coachella Music and Arts Festival before embarking on a world tour that continued through North America, Europe, and Asia until September 2015.

In the summer of 2017, Tyler debuted his fourth album, “Flower Boy,” which featured singles such as “Boredom” and “I Ain’t Got Time!” This album received a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, with Kendrick Lamar winning that year for “Damn.”
Tyler’s fifth studio album, “Igor,” was released in May 2019, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. It marked Tyler’s first number-one album in the U.S. and earned a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. Following that, his sixth studio album, “Call Me If You Get Lost,” also debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, making it his second number-one album in the country. In March 2023, he announced “Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale,” which included previously unreleased tracks.
Every year since fall 2012, Tyler has organized the Camp Flog Gnaw festival at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. This music festival showcases a variety of hip-hop and R&B artists alongside carnival rides and games. Notable performers from past festivals include Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Pharrell Williams, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, Willow Smith, Chance the Rapper, Post Malone, Drake, Solange, Juice WRLD, and Billie Eilish.
Tyler established his clothing line, GOLF WANG, a nod to Wolf Gang, which frequently appeared in his earlier music. Recognized for its bold and colorful apparel, shoes, accessories, and skateboards, the brand’s pieces are crafted and styled by Tyler himself and modeled by his friends. GOLF WANG appeals to fans of hip-hop, streetwear, and skate culture.
At 350 N. Fairfax Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, Tyler operates a GOLF WANG store. After the 2020 protests against police brutality—which followed the tragic deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, among others—his store suffered damage and was looted by rioters.
Sony Production Deal
In October 2018, a first-look production deal for his media company Bald Face Productions was signed by Tyler with Sony Pictures TV.
Personal Life
Speculation surrounding Tyler’s sexuality has arisen over time. He has alluded to same-sex relationships in his lyrics and has discussed this in interviews, including a brief romance with Jaden Smith in 2018.
Identifying as an atheist, many of Tyler’s lyrics express anti-religious sentiments.
Additionally, Tyler is known to collect bicycles and skateboards.
In August 2015, the United Kingdom banned Tyler from entry for five years, resulting in the cancellation of several shows, including his appearances at the Reading and Leeds music festivals during his Cherry Bomb tour. The controversy began in 2009 when then-Prime Minister Theresa May objected to certain lyrics from his mixtape “Bastard.” Since his ban was lifted in February 2019, Tyler has toured the U.K. multiple times, although a performance in London to promote “Igor” was recently canceled due to safety concerns amidst an unruly crowd.
