Venus Williams’ net worth – What is it?
With a net worth of $95 million, Venus Williams is an American professional tennis player who is credited with ushering in a new era of power on the women’s professional tennis tour. Formerly ranked World No. 1 in singles three times, she is celebrated as the first American black woman to achieve this feat during the Open Era.
History in the Making
Born in Lynwood, California, on June 17, 1980, Venus Ebony Starr Williams is the daughter of Richard Williams and Oracene Price. Upon the family’s move from Compton, California, to West Palm Beach, Florida, when Venus was 10, she and sister Serena began attending Rick Macci’s tennis academy. Richard Williams took over coaching responsibilities for both daughters at 11 years old, after Venus held a 63–0 record on the United States Tennis Association junior tour and was named No. 1 among under-12 players in Southern California.
Professional Path
At age 14, Williams went pro in 1994. Her professional debut in the Australian Open saw her facing off against Serena in the second round in 1998. Her dominance continued with many achievements, such as five Wimbledon singles titles and four Olympic gold medals in women’s doubles.
Williams was the record holder for the all-time leader of Grand Slam participations, reaching her 90th at Wimbledon in 2021. Making her 30th year debut on the WTA Tour in January 2023 at the Auckland Open marked another milestone in her enduring career.

In her advocacy efforts, Williams launched #CoachVenus workouts on Instagram Live in 2020 as fundraisers for the Equal Justice Initiative, matching all donations to the nonprofit in their fight against mass incarceration and racial injustice.
Earnings over the Years
Venus, boasting more than $42 million in career earnings as of March 2022, ranked second in all-time female tennis earnings, trailing only her sister Serena Williams. Her court earnings, which exceeded $38 million by 2017, were complemented by substantial endorsement deals that brought her between $5 to $10 million annually at the peak of her career.
Property Portfolio
Investing in a luxurious ‘retirement home’ on Jupiter Island, Florida, in 2019 for almost $10 million, Venus’s real estate ventures have been noteworthy. The property features exclusive amenities, including a private beach and cottage for Serena, demonstrating a commitment to family and comfort.
Prior to this, Venus and Serena resided in a Palm Beach Gardens mansion in Florida, purchased in 1998 and later listed for sale in 2018 at $2.5 million after years of shared memories and successes.
